CSO :)

This October we also had our CSO or Creative Social Outreach program which is required for Grade 10-12 students. We have to complete a certain number of hours to be able to graduate.
So, it's my first CSO activity and I can say it was certainly fulfilling.

On a Saturday, we went to feed 100 children in a depressed area in Muntinlupa.
It was hot and tiring, but seeing the faces of the children smiling and eating happily, took away the exhaustion we had. I also realized how lucky I am and I learned to appreciate the things that I always took for granted.

We always want something better, something more; that we don't realize just how important are the things that we already have. We want a bigger house with three floors, a posh bedroom with an overlooking view of the city, but don't we realize that some people live in the streets and have to sleep on a cold hard cement every night? We throw our lunch today just because we think the taste sucks, but don't we see the children scavenging on trashes just to find leftovers? or begging for a coins? We always complain because our teachers give us a lot of homework, but some kids can't even read much less learn or go to school.

I realized all these things after the activity. I always complain when I don't get this or get that. I envy some people who have this thing or that thing. I don't appreciate the things I already have or sadly, sometimes even the people around me. :(

Now, I realized that my life is going pretty much great right now.
I feel such a lucky person. :)

I might not have everything in this world right now... but I guess, I already have Enough. :)

Lesson learned: Contentment

Loooooong Vacation (not really)

So, long vacation...
It's Not a vacatioooooon! T-T

So many homework, deadlines, and take-home quizzes!!!!!!
Waaaaaaaaaa!
(sigh)
Well, that's life!
So, I just stayed at home and did each work one by one.
The good thing is I can wake up as late as I want! XD
(I woke up like 11 everyday! Hahaha!)

Well, I just want to thank Facebook for helping me go through all these...
For being such a nice companion to fight my boredom at home...
And for Grade 10A Group for all the HW reminders and the cussings(ahem) constructive criticisms for each other...(I knew you guys missed each other! LOL)
Thank you!
To Angela Park! My life saver! For her active reminders! :) :) :) :) :)

Until I finished everything!!!!! Yey! XD

************************************
Ha ha ha! It was certainly a busy week! But it was really a good one!
Staying at home all day, waking up late,  playing games and chatting with friends at Facebook! :)
But nothing beats the real thing... excited to see my classmates faces(not all of them though.... Joke! XD ) when school resumes classes again!

:)

UN! (PART II - Finally!)

At last!
It's here!
The day we've been waiting for....
The day when our hard work will finally be rewarded.....
The day where we invested all our sweat and blood and tears and.......

Ok, enough of that... lol
It's the UN Day! Yey!
And what can I say? It was awesome! Really, reaaaaallllyyy FUN!
I can't believe how fast it came and went! After all those endless preparations, it was finished in just half of the day! But it will another unforgettable memory that will be engraved deep in my memory.
XD

So, let's back up first shall we? Let me tell you what happened on that day itself....
I went to school early (I think)... I wasn't late anyway. lol
Then we fixed the unfinished tasks and did some last-minute decorations.
(All the classes were given an hour to finish it before the program starts)
Then we changed to our costumes! And everyone in our class were in costumes! From the rich Indian girls to Gandhi to the untouchable guys with their ripped clothes! :)

And you know what happened afterwards????
We just took pictures! Endless heaps of pictures! Ha ha ha!
(We stopped fixing our decors for that. LOL)

Here they are:

 The untouchables... (Looking Haggard???)

 Gandhi meets.... Vice Gandhi!

Sleeping at Taj Mahal (Tired people?)

OMG! Give this guy some fooood!

I can't tell which one is the real thing! Is he the one on the left??? XD

YUM! (The FoOd Ok? not the guy below! LOL)

 Wacky shot!

With our beautiful Economics teacher, T. Cathy :)

Hungry???

 "Presenting: Shiva the Destroyer"

Super Fun! We also roamed around other classes and ate (Yum!)..
I visited Jamaica, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, Philippines, and of course India!
I can call it Around the World (not all) in Half a Day! Hahaha!!!
I'm so sad it's finally over... :( but I'm sooo relieved it's done and I'm reaaally Happy our class did well! :D

*******************************************************
Looking forward for the next events to come...
But first, Long Vacation! Wooohooo!!! :P
(It's just for a week and a couple of days, but who cares? It's still a vacation!)
And I seriously need a break! Ha ha ha! XD

UN! (PART I - The Preparations)

PART I - The Preparations

Every year, our school celebrates the United Nations Day. Each class were assigned a country,  and we have to redecorate our classrooms, be in costumes, and prepare the food!

For this year, our class, Grade 10A, will represent the country of India!
Last year we weren't able to win so this time we're really really REALLY determined to achieve victory.
Go, go INDIA!
So, first of all we Planned...
Research, research, research about India!
The traditional costumes, famous landmarks, food, music, culture, etc. etc.

NEXT:
We decided to divide the class into two committees: the FOOD and DECORATIONS.
I was assigned to decorations which was quite a challenge because how can we transform our plain, boring, and small classroom into the country of India? The answer was to listen, cooperate and enjoy. We listened to each others' ideas and opinions, cooperated in doing the tasks (though you can never avoid little arguments and such... but I think it's pretty normal in a class. The best thing is afterwards, we all resolve it together and forget it later. :D )

We're even planning and telling each other's ideas thru FACEBOOK! :)

"Don't forget to bring....." :P

The Funds! We need Cash!
We also had to contribute to buy the materials for the designs and ingredients for the food (goodbye savings T.T) hahaha.
And I was always making detours to ATC (practically almost everyday) to buy materials! (No complaints there! I have an excuse to make gala. LOL :P )

The Decorations!
For the designs, we decided to fill it with a lot of cloths, cloths, cloths! (The problem is where are we gonna get that much! LOL) But thanks to Tomi (who provided ALL  the curtains) and Martin and T. Anna's cloths, and T. Richmond's carpet... it was all solved!)
Then we put them on the classroom with the help of the guys...
That's our mascot SHIVA!

Walk along the colorful streets of India!

I drew it and all my classmates painted and colored it! :)

Our Bright Idea:
We also thought of a brilliant idea! (which the other classes copied,,, but we're the original! :P )
CELLOPHANES!
We also covered the lights, so it glowed with different colors! XD
Our windows looked great! I got the idea from stained glasses in church, I figured we can also do those in our windows and they looked SUPER NICE!
I wasn't able to take pictures of our windows but I got the idea here:

Our windows looked a bit like this.... Nice, right?
Honestly, I actually enjoy activities like these! And I think "the Making" parts are one of the important things that make it exciting and enjoyable.

*************************************************************************

Though it's stressful and tiring, seeing the final product can never fail to make you smile. :)
And in my opinion, our classroom looked pretty much Amazing!
So I'm (hoping ) SURE we'll WIN! Go Grade 10A! XD
