The Playfest and Musicfest of MITIS! :)

For the celebration of MITIS' 5th year anniversary, we had  two fantastic events--- the Playfest and the Musicfest! (It's also my fifth year surviving  attending this school! Hahaha! :P ) Talk about history! And I guess in the history of MIT, this year's Playfest and Musicfest were the grandest. (More budget??? Hahaha!) Well, this year we performed in a REAL stage---complete with backstage, sounds and lights equipment, and of course the live audience!

I bet everyone prepared really hard for these two events, from the students, teachers, staff, and everyone else... so it's no wonder the events turned out as a big SUCCESS! Yay!!! :)

[ I didn't perform in the Musicfest so, mostly I'm going to talk about the Playfest, is that okay? :) ]

But for the Musicfest, it was a great event of showcasing the talents and confidence of the MITIS students. I really enjoyed it and I loved being an audience! It made me admire the great musical skills of those people playing instruments (and I envy them, please give me even an ounce of your skills! Hahaha! :P), shocked speechless by a hot dance number (admit it, everyone present wished they just melted on their seats! hahahaha   ~oppa~oppa~     lol ;P), and seeing my classmates and teacherssing, dance, and own the stage!!! :D

For the Playfest, our class Grade 10A had a play entitled "A-TRIUM: A Table of Authors".                            I can proudly say that it was the best play ever!!!!!!! :D                       It was the fruits of our labor and hard work.

From the production until the performance day itself, I will never forget it.

I was part of the script-writing team, along with Cho and John. And our English teacher, Ms. Rezeile really helped us a lot in writing the script too. So I was sooooo happy and proud when our class won the Best Script!!! :) We had a deconstructive fabulation for our play. We mixed three famous love stories from three different countries and produced our own story from it. We had the Korean Chun-Hyang, the English Romeo and Juliet, and the Filipino Ibarra and Ma. Clara. At first it was quite hard, we were thinking, "Will the audience understand our play?", "Will the result be good?", "Will they get the story?" But in the end, they got it, enjoyed it, and loved it!

Aside from being a scriptwriter, I also acted as Erato the muse of love and lyric poetry. It was a really great experience for me. I was able to overcome my stage fright and be more confident of myself. Before, I could never talk to even just a few people, but now I was able to face an audience and act in a play. I was really glad that I was able to be part of the play and work on both onstage and offstage.

We prepared really hard from it, for weeks and weeks we've been practicing and it finally paid off. I guess this is one of the most unforgettable and fun memories of my life. I will never forget our days of preparation, worrying about props, getting crazy finding costumes and spending so much for it, lazing around, the endless practices, the line-throwing, the tempers and simple squabbles, the jokes and the fun, and the day that we stepped onstage and felt that nothing really mattered except to just make our play good and simply enjoy the few moments that we're there. One word. Wow.
