Go to www.facebook.com. Type in your username and password. Then, log in. People from all around the world have been using Facebook and got hooked to it. So, what is Facebook? And what is the reason why so many people have become addicted to it? Is having a Facebook account really a sin?
Facebook is a social networking site that makes it easier for everyone to keep in touch with friends, co-workers, and people who share the same interests as them. They can create a personal profile, upload pictures, write notes, and send messages to their friends. Aside from that, there are also a lot of applications and games in which people could spend their spare times on.
But still, having too much is not good. Some people are so addicted to Facebook, that one could see them online almost everyday. Facebook could distract other people, especially students who are busy with their studies. Because of games or applications like Farmville or Pet Society that requires the user to check it every other day, it distracts them from the things that they must do. Also, everyone can see all the things that a person writes or posts in his/her Facebook wall. So whenever a user writes something rude, foul, or offensive in Facebook, it could spread just within minutes or even seconds.
Even though there are negative effects, Facebook is in fact, actually intended to be a means of connection with other people from all over the world. So through Facebook, people could keep in touch with their old friends and could also discover different kinds of people. People could also find Facebook as another way to express themselves. They could write things that they can’t usually say to other people and convey their emotions by means of Facebook.
Therefore, having a Facebook account is not a sin. Just as long as you use it wisely and prioritize the things that you are really supposed to be doing, then everything will be fine. I would just recommend to those who were addicted to Facebook, to minimize the use of it or just finish all the things you’re supposed to do before logging in to Facebook. I’m also advising all the Facebook users out there to be careful on the things they write, post, or comment because with just one wrong click of the mouse, it could spread like a virus just within seconds. You wouldn’t know how much trouble it might cause you. Also, you won’t die if you didn’t harvest your crops in Farmville or advanced to the next level in Pet Society. Don’t take it too seriously. They’re just games! The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy using Facebook. Use it wisely!
